Welcome to the Technological Education Advising Blog!!

My name is Teresa Boyle and I am your Intermediate/Senior Technological Education advisor. Congratulations on your admission to the Consecutive program! I know this year will be very exciting and I look forward to welcoming you into our faculty and to make this transition as uncomplicated as possible. This blog is designed to keep you informed of any updates or changes that might occur between now and the start of the program. We will provide you with detailed instructions and information about enrollment, your year at a glance and information available to you as Bachelor Of Education student. EDUC 2300 M Pedagogy of the Land  Fri 14:30-17:20 Catalogue #Y30A01

Explores Indigenous understandings of the land as the first teacher. Participants experience and analyze the significance of the specific spaces where teaching and learning take place. Indigenous epistemologies, storying and decolonizing methodologies guide and inform the work.

EDUC 3650 M  The Psychoanalysis of Teaching & Learning: Studies in Teachers’ Emotional World  Tue 11:30 - 14:30 Catalogue #K07Q01

This course analyzes the emotional world of the teacher's learning and considers aspects of the psychology of teaching. It overviews psychoanalytic theory and provides a vocabulary for understanding self and other, all with a focus on interpreting emotional life in education. This course is only open to students in the Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree program.

EDUC 3710 M Global Issues Education Tues 8:30 - 11:20 Catalogue #:  X90F01

This course provides analyses of the process of globalization and its impact on life in Canada and abroad including its impact on education. Students explore how global issues can be incorporated into curriculum, teaching and learning. This course is only available to students in the Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree program.

This course discusses the conceptual, ethical, and practical issues involved in classroom assessment, including the process of developing, evaluating, and using a range of assessment tools; the interpretation, communication and use of assessment results; and the role of equity and diversity in assessment.

This course provides an introduction to the theory and practice of teaching and learning with digital technologies. Topics include applied learning theories and the use of Web-based tools, productivity and document sharing tools, blended learning, graphics and authoring software, educational games, and mobile devices, as well as production pedagogies theories and practices. Only available to students in the Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree program.

EDUC 3821 3.00 M Teaching ELL in Mainstream Classrooms Fri 14:30 - 17:20 Catalogue #: E76M01

This course addresses the needs of learners from language backgrounds other than English. It covers theoretical and practical aspects of the English language and second language learning and explores ways in which teachers can support such learners in the mainstream classroom. This course is only open to students in the Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree program.

June 20, 2025- Elective Enrollment Update:

Students should only be enrolled in one elective. All electives are now full but we will be adding spots to existing electives and will update the blog when this is done. These are winter electives that don’t begin until January so there is plenty of time to enroll, don't panic 🙂
